I love it when Lulu first wakes up. She always has the best smile for me when I walk in to pick her up in the morning. This morning was particularly happy. I wish I had my camera the moment I first poked my head in but I ran to get it right after she gave me the best smile I had ever seen. I did get some cute smiles but this tongue picture cracked me up. Lulu is just barley starting to get her first tooth bump but she has noticed it a lot and can’t keep the tip of her tongue off of it. She has also started to crawl although she doesn’t know what she is capable of. She will only go as far as the toy or dangerous thing she shouldn’t really play with is in arm reach. Once she is about a foot away she thrusts her self forward in this funny little last leap. We have a video from last night that I will post a little later today. I love this stage tough… I know I say I love every stage but I just really love my sweet little girl and her crusty nose.

Beautiful Baby Lulu
I think Lulu is so beautiful and with how crazy our schedule has been I some times feel like I don’t get to see her enough. I don’t want this time to pass me by so I am trying to take more pictures and videos for myself. She is in the cutest stage right now, I don’t want her to grow up!
Lulu’s First 4th of July
We have had quite the eventful few days with everyone out here from Hawaii- It was so nice to spend the 4th with them. In case you didn’t know we had to stake out our prime spot on the Parade route and I almost got into a fist fight over our claimed spot in front of Lon’s Cookin Shack. You should have seen our set up… in fact it was so nice that ABC channel 4 decided to have us on the 6 am news while Kekoa was still up playing PS3 on our kitchen table in our big pop up camping kitchen. They came and visited again just before 9 just in time for our pancake and sausage breakfast for 20 people… I would have loved to show you some of those pictures but I was flipping pancakes. It was a really fun memory if nothing else and Ulu and Kapono were total troopers for staying up for most of the night to protect our spot. Love you all hope you enjoy these few pictures from the Parade and the Hot air balloons from this morning. xoxo Lulu, Lyssa, and Koa.
Lulu goes to the Carnival
I was given a new lens for my birthday/graduation gift and this was my first time taking it out. I love it. We got to the Strawberry Days Carnival a little late tonight and it was over cast but you can’t even tell that there was almost no light left on these first couple of pictures I took as we were walking over to the rides. Lulu was so cute watching all of the lights. I was really grateful that Koa came out and did this with us even though it was cold and sprinkling. Last year Koa, Kawika and I went to the carnival then over to the rodeo… I was a little too sick and pregnant to stomach the twirl a hurl rides a year ago…. I think I may be getting a little too old for the rides… I could hardly handle the Merry-Go-Round tonight. I think I will put up some of those pictures of the boys from last year if I can find them on my computer…. so stay tuned for those.
Lulu’s New Trick
Just in the last week or so Lulu has figured out how to get a hold of her feet and it feels like she always has them up in the air. I think it is so dang cute! She has even been kicking around her little toys that hang from the handle on her car seat. It was so fun to see how she figured out that if she hits them with her hands and feet they make noise. I am so glad that she can entertain her self for a little while now, but only for a little while before I have to get her attention on something new. She gets frustrated really quickly when things aren’t quite working the way she would like them to. I need to put up a picture of her concentration face, it is so funny. But for now here are a few of her playing with her feet. She also really loves the window above her bed since there are some little branches that sway in the breeze and I think she likes all of the green and sun light. So if she isn’t playing with her feet after her baths then her eyes are fixed on those leaves. BTW I can’t believe how beautiful my baby is sometimes. I love her!

Alyssa’s Mom Day Roses

Mothers day was so nice, breakfast in bed from Koa… and (some roses I chose for myself – but paid for with Koa’s $) Thanks Babe, Best gift ever! I guess I will be getting a new lens as well as a graduation/birthday/Mothers day gift. I am really excited about it, a 50mm f/1.4! Thanks Mom and Dad for helping get it for graduation! I appreciate it and love you guys so much! Also thanks for dealing with the craziness that week with all you had to do in order to make it out for my graduation and the baby blessing then off to Chicago. It was just really nice to see you two…. next time you come out you will get to see our new apartment. I will put pictures up soon. Speaking of that as well– thanks Hanale, Erica, and Wika for all of your help moving. I really appreciated that as well — I know that was the last thing you two wanted to do on your vacation but it was so so so appreciated!
Lulu’s modeling debut
A while back Lulu was chosen to be a baby model for photographer Nicole Hill. She was kind enough to let me have copies of the photos and I wanted to share them all with the family– Love you all hope you like these. I thought they were so sweet and beautiful. I love this child! She brightens up my life. I will try to stay on top of posting to keep you all updated and connected with us since I know it is so hard to be so far away from one another. Love you all so much and happy first mothers day to me! Grammie and Tutu thanks for being such great Mothers to Koa and I. XOXO Lyss
Lulu Goes to the Duck Pond
So mom gave me a Flip Video camera as a baby shower present. It has been really nice to have. We haven’t really been using it to the fullest, but here is our first real video.
This is Lulu’s first trip to the duck pond. It has gotten much warmer so we can take her out more.
We’ll try to do something like this frequently, though it will probably be less of a production in the future, and just show what Lulu is up to.
Oh, and welcome to our family blog!
